Care 4 Tymisha due to DV deaths

For many, Christmas is a time to celebrate with the family and to rejoice.   On December 25, 2016 around 1:30 a.m., that was not to be said for the Cedar Bend community located in Moundville, Alabama and the families of 39-year old Tyrone Vanhorn, 34-year old Tameisure Minter (Vanhorn) and 9-year old Tymisha Vanhorn.

Before dawn on Christmas morning 2016, Tyrone Vanhorn fatally shot and killed his wife with a hunting rifle in front of their 9-year old daughter, Tymisha Vanhorn.  He proceeded to kill himself moments later.  Tamiesure’s mother, Mary (Pat) Minter, lived yards away, but couldn’t reach her daughter in time to save her life.

Tamiesure was a wonderful, doting and loving wife, daughter, sister, and loved one.  Tamiesure was loved by many and she loved others in return; however, her unconditional love for her only daughter, Tymisha, is what kept her going many days.  She loved her daughter very much and her face lit up whenever she would talk of her.  



This GoFundMe page has been started because there has been an outpouring of love and support for Tymisha as well as her immediate family.  Tymisha will be surrounded by much love and care from her family, but due to the tragic details of the event her life will forever be changed.  She will undoubtedly need counseling as well as other needs. 

The hopes of this page will be to raise funds for the care of Tymisha as well as assisting in relocating the grandmother who lives next door to where the murder-suicide occurred.  Assisting to relocate her maternal grandmother (whom will be the primary custodian) will help Tymisha and the family heal and not be reminded of what happened every day just a few feet away.

The family wants to say that we are very touched by the outpouring of love and support that friends and strangers are showing during this tragic time.

We urge anyone that is in a volatile relationship to please seek help.  Violence is never the answer.

Update:  This campaign was created by the grandmother, Mary Minter, located in Moundville, AL for the care of her granddaughter, Tymisha Vanhorn, whom lost her parents in the wee hours of Christmas Day 2016.  All funds donated and gathered will be directly deposited into an account managed by Mary Minter created for the care of Tymisha Vanhorn at BB&T.  The donations will be spent for the care of Tymisha as well as to help relocate her from the area in which the deaths occurred.  If you would like to donate please visit your local BB&T branch and ask to make deposits into the "Care for Tymisha Vanhorn" account.
