Dear Family and Friends,
Please take a moment to read this Heart-Breaking story. My best friend Tera, her two little girls Mia (7), Avery (2) and their family dog Lily were struck by another car traveling the wrong way in their lane resulting in a head on car accident Tuesday night (August 13th) while headed home from work. They were first taken to Trios, then life flighted to Sacred Heart Children’s hospital in Spokane, where both children immediately went through extensive life saving measures to stabilize them. Mia underwent surgery and has multiple casts due to a broken femur, tibia, fibula, shattered ankle and broken hand. She has 3 fractures of her pelvis, fractured ribs, and bruised organs.
Avery (2 yrs) has a severe skull fracture which will require surgery once the swelling goes down and is suffering seizures.
Tera (Mom) has bruised ribs, pain and swelling of her liver as well as severe bruising to her arm and legs but is able to transfer back and forth between the girls rooms to comfort them.
My heart is heavy to say, their family dog Lily did not make it through. She was such a happy dog and companion for the family and the memories with her will be dearly cherished.
We are beyond grateful that Avery, Mia and Tera are still here with us but both girls and mom are going to need ongoing surgeries and medical care.
Currently, Tera is being supermom taking care of both girls but as of now we don’t know when Mia or Avery will be released from the hospital so we don’t know when Tera will be able to return to work as she is 3 hours from home.
In the meantime Tera (single mom) has bills, mortgage payments due for the family home and will be getting vast amounts of medical bills very soon. Please, if there is anyway you can help this beautiful little family with anything at all it is sincerely appreciated. Thank you.
