THE FIGHT AGAINST HUNGER
Crosskey Architects is raising money for the fight against hunger and to raise awareness. However, this annual foodraiser is not your everyday food collection program. We will join AIA Connecticut and the Chrysalis Center in their CANstruction and Donation Creation events where participants must build something out of canned food. Once the construction is completed, all of the cans are then donated to Connecticut Food Bank and the Chrysalis Center’s Freshplace where the food is distributed to those in need.
In addition to raising canned food donations for the Connecticut Food Bank in Wallingford, CANstruction presents a great opportunity to become involved with local schools and share the creative side of architecture with a hands-on activity. Students will learn about the design process as we help take their ideas from imagination to reality as these can-builds are designed and completed with a local middle school class.
For the Chrysalis Center's Donation Creation, Crosskey Architects will work to raise money and canned goods to donate to Chrysalis Center's Freshplace Food Pantry which serves the Upper Albany and Asylum Hill neighborhoods in Hartford, Connecticut.
