About the trip
I have been invited to present my independent research this July at the UCL Institute of the Americas, London Journal of Canadian Studies Colloquium - July 6 - 8, 2017.

I am raising money to present my research paper, "The Black Experience of Precarious work in social service agencies...Causes and Characteristics of Precarious work" at this conference.

This is an opportunity for me as a black woman, social worker and front line worker to participate in the broader discussion about what black people still experience as workers here in Canada, and how systemic racism in employment is still a major issue.

I wrote this study as a story that needs to be told from a person who has first hand experience of what the employment landscape is like for black front line workers.

This research study was conducted after graduation, so I do not get any funding support for travel and accommodation costs from any educational institutions. I am also currently looking for work so I don't have any disposable income to put towards paying for this trip.
