Candi Lewis funeral & medical costs

Donation protected
Candi Lewis, a devoted wife, mother, grand mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend left this earth on March 20, 2017 after a series of brain hemmorages and complications with AML Acute Myeliod Leukemia.
On March 16th Steve took Candi to Swedish ER after she lost the movement and mobility of her right arm. After labs and a Cat Scan were done, Candi & Steve were told that Candi had Leukemia - AML - Acute Myeloid Leukemia. In addition, she had a Brian Bleed,
( Hemorrhagic Stroke), that was causing numbness and paralysis in her right arm. The plan was to transfer her  to Presbyterian-St. Luke's (PSL) as quickly as possible to get her started on her Leukemia treatment and get a more detailed diagnosis.  As the transfer orders were processing Candi soon lost feeling in her right leg, and then her speech started to slur. Candi arrived to PSL where they performed a bone marrow biospy, other tests and started to put orders through for a special concentrated chemo treatment to calm down the AML.  However, after a few hours the hemorraging progressed and Steve and the girls made the tough decision to go ahead with the only option, which was brain surgery to relieve the pressure.  It was a life or death decision.  It was a 5 hour surgery and Candi looked good afterwards.  All her counts were good, her white blood cell count was coming down, her plaetlets were going up and her blood pressure was good.  All hopeful signs that she would recover.  However, overnight Candi's brain hemorraged again, causing significant brain damage, reducing her brain activity to 1%.  The doctors waited 24 hours for signs of improvement and a CAT scan was done on Monday morning to see if there was any change. Unfortunatley, there was even more brain damage detected.  After many prayers and tears, the very difficult decision by the Lewis family was made to take Candi off life support.  Sweet Candi Lewis died peacefully in the loving arms of her family on March 20th.
It was an untimely death and the family is missing her terribly.  She was the glue that held the family together and she was LIGHT!  She lit up a room with her smile and laugh.  She was an angel and anyone who knew her LOVED her instantly.  Please help us raise money to help support the family with the funeral and memorial services as well as the costly medical bills that will follow.   Funeral arrangments will be announced as soon as possible.  The beneficiary for this campaign is Machelle Moynahan Jungerman who is the niece of Candi and Steve Lewis.  Thank you for supporting the wonderful Lewis family at this difficult time.
