Benefit for Nick Lynch and Family

Hello everyone,

We did not plan to do this but as more people came to us about doing a gofundme page, we have come to a agreement that it could help our family out a lot with medical expenses for my husband Nick.  Nick just celebrated his 28th birthday on October 19th.

On October 10, 2018 our world changed when we found out that my husband was diagnosed with a rare form of thyroid cancer called Medullary, and it had spread from his thyroid to multiple lymph nodes causing him to have surgery on October 25, 2018. 

That surgery resulted in a hospital stay for 6 days with four drains placed in his neck. Nick had to have a full dissection of the neck, which meant all lymph nodes had to be completely removed.  His thyroid, and his jugular vein were also removed due to tumors.

We started with 5 lymph nodes being positive with cancer before going into surgery, and after the labs came back from the surgery we found out 19 lymph nodes where actually positive and had metastatic cancer outside of the lymph nodes, and thyroid causing to go into his tissues.

As we know of now, the cancer is locally advanced. Meaning it has not spread to distant sites, but just advanced in the neck region. We pray that is stays like this, and does not spread any further. This is not a 100% curable cancer due to the rare type of cancer he has, and it could come back.

His recovery will take some time, and he will have to do radiation also for 6 weeks straight, 5 days a week.  We hope it works since medullary thyroid cancer does not react to radiation too well. It would mean so much if you could help our family out with this rough time we are going through every little bit helps.
