Paradise, CA CampFire Relief Fund

Donation protected
6:30am local time Thursday, a fire dubbed 'CampFire' has burned over 130,000 acres and is still only 35 percent contained. It has  burnt over 10,000 structures and has become the most destructive fire in California history

On Thursday afternoon, a state of emergency was declared in Butte County in response to the growing Camp Fire. On Friday, President Donald Trump approved California's Emergency Declaration, allowing federal assistance to be open to the state due to the wildfires.

The cause of the fire is still unknown. However, on Friday afternoon, Pacific Gas & Electric Co. said that it experienced a problem with an electric line near the location where the Camp Fire started, according to the AP. It is unclear if this contributed to the start of the wildfire.

An evacuation order was issued for all of Paradise, home to over 27,000 people, where many had only minutes to flee the rapidly spreading blaze. In total, this fire has displaced 52,000 people.

“Pretty much the community of Paradise is destroyed, it’s that kind of devastation,” Cal Fire Capt. Scott McLean said via the AP. “The wind that was predicted came and just wiped it out.”

Although emergency funds are on the way, we have many friends and family that are in shelters with nothing but the clothes they fled with.  Basic necessities are being sent in to help aid the needs of thousands of people, and additional resources are being driven in. Please consider donating to help the victims overcome this devastation. All proceeds will be donated directly to victims effected by the #CampFire.

Update:
We are in the process of disbursing funds from this campaign.  For all of you donors:  We are buying gas cards, gift cards, visa check cards, and sending cash directly to those in need.  All funds will be drawn out exclusively by myself.  I am working with a small network of Paradise High Alumni (GOOOOOOO Bobcats!) to help with the relief efforts.  Most of the folks we are/have helped have been childhood friends and family in the area.  We have been inundated with several other families requesting help as well (mostly through word of mouth and social media).

We are working with many families, not one specific family.  As soon as funds are released from GoFundMe we will send out these care packages to the families directly.  We will have receipts and tracking info on record for any donors who want to know that the families received funds.

If there are any questions that I may be able to answer, do not hesitate to ask.  We are all in a state of shock, and doing the best we can to cope.  Our hearts goes out the those thousands of families who lost homes, work, lives, and just about everything.  Thank you for your continued support and donations. If anyone would like to reach out to me directly please email me at [email redacted].

Thank you all!
