Camp Abilities North Florida’s second annual camp was a great success! June 26th - July 1st, 2016, at The Montgomery Presbyterian Center, our campers who are blind and visually impaired, ages 8-16, partook in week filled with:
Stand-up Paddle Boarding
Kayaking
Swimming
Beep Kickball
as well as Archery, Talent Shows, Dance Parties, Canoeing, and lots of S’mores by the campfire!

The increased independence and confidence gained by all of the campers throughout the week was inspiring and reminded everyone who was there that our campers “have a loss of sight, but never a loss of vision.” For many of our campers, Camp Abilities North Florida was a week of “firsts”: sleeping away from home, experiencing a sleep-away camp, being surrounded by peers who were also visually impaired, and being encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and accomplish something new and exciting.
