CAMP JEANS PERMIT AND FLOOD FUND

Update 7:  My nightmare is still not over. I had the hearing in Jan. and my neighbor who built his house in the open cornfield across the street 4 years ago and was always friendly until now showed up and complained about the noise of barking and traffic and questioned my being able to operate. I had to get a lawyer and get a survey done of my property. We had a second hearing on March 5th and the neighbor showed up again and complained about things that were not true. He complained about signs on my car ,colored light in my yard . Nothing that matters to the permit. They keep saying I should have to widen my driveway because of traffic. It turns out that because I am considered a commerical "kennel" because I take money to watch peoples dogs I have to use a building 200 feet from the property line. I use to board in the barn for some dogs now I can't. Most are in the house with me at night. My house is not 200 feet from the cornfield BEHIND my house so the township is making me apply for a zone variance. That fee is $7500 so I am going to have to increase this page to continue fighting for my business. The owner of the field behind me is willing to work with me.

I do not live in a flood plan so I have no flood insurance. My neighbor has lived here 35 years and this has never happened. I have no large creeks near me. FEMA is too busy with the Hurricanes and fires that they have not been here to assess the damage to our county yet. I used my winter saving money to do repairs. When I opened 12 years ago I visited the township to see what I needed to get started. I showed the code enforcer my plans and he said if he needed more he would get back to me.m I have had a kennel Permit with the County since I was opened but the township is now telling me I should have gotten a conditional use permit when I opened and I have 30 days to comply. The fine is $500 plus their court cost and then it can be $500 for every day after  that I am in violation.  I was planning on doing this next year thinking they waited 12 years they can wait 13 but it doesn't seem they will wait that long. I do not have the money to pay them until next spring to summer time.
