Camp Fire ~ Help the Bolin Family

Donation protected
Our dearest friends, Hope and Steve Bolin and their boys, Asher (7) and Bodey (4), lost their home yesterday and everything they owned in the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA.

Steve left Paradise for work (near Chico) in the morning and Hope kept Asher home from school (thank goodness!) because he was sick.  Within 45 minutes of smelling even the faintest bit of smoke, their street was on fire and Hope and the boys fled with their dog in the car. The street was in gridlock as fire raged on both sides of them. Burning branches started  falling and they were unable to drive either forwards or back. Finally, in desperation, Hope got out of the car and ran with the boys to a firetruck she spotted. The fireman allowed them to hunker down in the firetruck while he went to help others. Eventually, after watching flames consume everything around them, they finally spotted the fireman making his way back. They were taken to the parking lot of the hospital (where buildings were also on fire) because it was the only piece of land not burning. This morning several people in their neighborhood were found dead in their cars, so the fact that they made it out is a miracle. Hope has been my best friend since 7th grade and I can't imagine losing her and her family. Being an only child, she's the closest thing to a sister I will ever know.

Steve, Hope, and the boys are currently staying with family in Chico, but have lost literally everything. After just moving back to Paradise from Roseville a year ago, they had nearly finished renovating a little house, that is now no more. This fund is to help them replace clothes and necessities, buy food, gas, and help with temporary living arrangements until they figure out how they are going to move forward. Hope's place of work may also be gone too, so we have no idea what the future holds for them in that regard, but we know we can help in the meantime. While our goal is $10k, every bit more that is earned will go toward helping them find a new place to live. Thank you so much for your generosity and to all those who have reached out to pray for them and offer words of encouragement.

Sincerely, Danielle and Josh Hanosh
