Cambodia Schooling Fundraiser

As a year 11 Ravenswood student, I am currently fundraising for the Matesabroad organisation as part of an immersion I’ll be undertaking to Cambodia in July this year. The trip’s purpose is to help teach English to disadvantaged children, provide them with some educational resources and infrastructure, and raise awareness of their economic and social struggles.

The immersion is being organised jointly by Knox and Ravenswood schools in conjunction with Matesabroad https://matesabroad.org.au/about-us/ which is an Australian registered charity. Their mission is to:

·    To end the cycle of poverty in the communities by educating the children.

·    To empower families by establishing lasting initiatives that encourage direct involvement, and enable financial security

·    To foster ownership and commitment among the people who live in the project areas to transform their communities with the ultimate aim of self-sufficiency.
