Calvary UMC Choir Invited to sing at Carnegie Hall
The Calvary Choir has received a special invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall on May 26, 2019!
We need YOUR support to make this trip happen!
There are many expenses associated with this trip, including registration fees, transportation, and hotel for the 19 members of the Calvary UMC Choir who will be singing with other choirs from around the country!

About the Concert
"A moment of extreme pride for the whole community"
Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY)* announced on April 11, 2018 that Natalia Shevchuk and Calvary United Methodist Church Choir have been invited to participate in a performance of ‘The Music of Pepper Choplin and Mary McDonald’ on the DCINY Concert Series in New York City. This performance is planned to take place on Sunday, May 26, 2019 – Memorial Day Weekend – in Isaac Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall under the baton of both composers. These outstanding musicians will join with other choristers to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International, a choir of distinction.
Dr. Jonathan Griffith, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for DCINY, states: “The Calvary United Methodist Church Choir received this invitation because of the quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated by the singers as well as the exceptional quality of their audition recording... These wonderful musicians not only represent a high quality of music and education, but they also become ambassadors for the entire community. This is an event of extreme pride for everybody and deserving of the community’s recognition and support.”
The singers will spend approximately 9-10 hours in rehearsals over the 5 day residency. Members of the community are strongly encouraged to give financial support in sending these singers to New York. Please use this page to make a donation.
