Our Story:
We are a group of women who are competitive rowers from the Calgary Rowing Club. This year we are setting our sights on a big goal, competing at the Henly Royal Regatta (HRR) in Henley-on-Thames England!! This prestigious regatta has been running since 1839 and is one of the most competitive regattas for amateur rowers in the world. Attending and competing at this event is a once in a life time opportunity for rowers, and we are thrilled we are going to get the chance to do that.
Over the past 2 years we have had an incredible amount of success in Canadian rowing including:
- 2 time Royal Canadian Henley Regatta (RCHR) Champions in the Women's Eight and Women's Four (2015 & 2016)
-3rd place finish in the Women's Four (2016) at the RCHR and 5th place in 2015
- 3rd, 4th and 11th place finishes in the Women's Pair at the National Championships (2016)
- Champions in the U23 Womens Four and U23 Womens Pair at RCHR
-Our incredible coach has also been honoured as Rowing Canada's coach of the year for two years running (2015 & 2016) .
We are so proud of these achievements and have only been able to do what we have done in thanks to our amazing club, friends and families.
Travelling to the UK for HRR has a significant cost and we are hoping we can raise some money to help support travel costs, equipment rental and accomodation costs while we are there for the week long competition.
Your support means we can focus on our training (9-10 sessions a week) and not worry as much about how we are going to get there.
