Caitlin's Fight Against Metastatic Breast Cancer

Donation protected
On August 7, 2018, Caitlin was diagnosed with breast cancer and subsequently endured 6 grueling months of chemotherapy, completed radiation,  underwent a mastectomy and was eventually deemed "cancer free"!

But not without cost; Caitlin shared with us on Facebook "I had lost time with my sweet new born daughter, most of my short term memory, 50 pounds, and a lot of what I thought I was up until August 2018. My marriage suffered, my family suffered, and my never ending self scrutiny wondered if I would ever be worth the money and effort spent to save me." Of course, those that know Caitlin know the is absolutely worth every single penny...

Unfortunately, the "cancer free" celebration was a bit short lived.  Caitlin's cancer returned in December 2019 to her chest wall, and after more surgery and treatment, the Kozma's were hit with a devastating blow on February 13, 2020: Caitlin's breast cancer had metastasized to her lungs, she is now stage 4 and considered incurable.

At this time, the Kozma's are seeking treatment options at some of the top cancer centers in the country. Innovations are being made daily in the fight against breast cancer, and Abe and Caitlin are doing their best to ensure Caitlin has access to them. But, this comes with a cost.

Caitlin and Abe will both be missing a considerable amount of time from work, and have been over the past 17 months. This loss of income does not help, as their other expenses rise. Deductibles add up. Hotels, airfare, car rentals as they pursue treatment options, they all add up. Child care during the week is expensive, and having someone come clean the home so Caitlin can rest and Abe can work, that adds up.

Fighting cancer is hard on the mind and body, and making ends meet should not be an issue the Kozma's need to be worried with at this time.

At this time we are asking for donations to help alleviate the financial stress placed upon the Kozma's as Caitlin now fights for her life. The Kozma's are kind, loving, hard working, and would do the same for any of us! If you know them, you know this to be true. Let's show the Kozma's just how much they are loved, and help provide a little bit of relief in this incredibly trying time in their lives.
