Caira’s Fight Fund

This campaign assisted in the medical care of Caira Nakasone. She was battling the return of a very aggressive cancer, after being in remission for one year of being diagnosed and treated for stage IV uterine Cancer. My sweet sister passed away on April 2, 2019. Our family truly appreciates everyone’s kindness and generosity.

*****Original Story*****
Finding the right words to describe such a beautiful soul is tough, Caira is 34 years old, and thee most selfless kind hearted individual you will ever meet. She was born, and raised on the island of Kauai, and a proud graduate of Island School. Caira Achieved two Bachelor Degrees, one from the University of Puget Sound in Washington continuing to the Oregon state University. Receiving also her Masters from Chaminade University. Her pursuance of education led to her love of Oregonian lifestyle and culture, now her place of residence. If you’ve had the chance of meeting my awesome sis, you would know she will go above and beyond for anyone. She is the rock of our family, our balance and our center. She is the best big sister god could’ve gave me.

Her life is fruitful, but took a slight turn in March of 2017. She had brought a concern of abnormal bleeding to her Primary Care Physician, who put her on several hormone regimens. A CT scan performed months later and a Biopsy revealed that cancerous tumors were present in her Uterus.

October 26, 2017, while undergoing her surgery, it was revealed that she had stage IV Uterine Cancer, it had masticated to her colon and liver. It was the late diagnosis from her PCP that led to the aggressive growth of her unknown cancer. However through her endurance through chemotherapy and with the love of our family and friends, she won that battle. Caira is a warrior, she is a fighter, her monthly follow ups had shown no signs of the cancer’s return.

October 2018, she began feeling abdominal pain, bloating and a large mass in her stomach. A CT scan revealed the cancers return to her abdomen, which is also causing ascites. Due to the immediacy of necessary treatments, she is unable to fly home to Hawaii to continue treatment due to the high risk of infection from a flight.

Caira’s strength is amazing, her love for life is amazing. She is amazing! At this time we kindly ask for your prayers, love and support to help her concentrate on fighting her fight and taking back her life.

***Any donation amount, is greatly appreciated and every dollar donated will be directly used to supplement her medical treatment and care***
