Cafesito and his sore bum

Cafesito was rescued from a neglectful home on 10/17/18. First we took him to the vet; he was determined to have an awful case of ear mites and was under weight. First few days he ate like he hadn’t eaten in days. We noticed he didn’t know how to use the litter box and that his poop looked like cocoa pebbles. Next, we started noticing he was having trouble deficating. He appeared constipated; we went back to the vet 10/22/18, they administered fluids and asked us to stop his formula that may have been causing constipation. Then he started losing appetite and got more bloated. Continued to have trouble deficating. We went back to vet on 10/24/18, they did x-rays and he was full of poop. Treatment plan was started for him. Since starting his treatment we’ve seen some progress. However, he does require around the clock care and needs continued help with passing his poo. Poor little guy. So far the vet feels he is demonstrating signs of mega colon. The treatment he is on will help, but he should be seen by a specialist and needs to be followed closely.
