Today, September 28th, I took Hunter to a dog park near our home. If anyone knows Hunter, they know that he is the sweetest and friendliest puppy anyone has ever met. He has so much love for everyone. For dogs, for people, for anything that lives. So today we get into the dog park, and Hunter starts to play with a dog around his size and they are just playing and having the time of their lives. The owner of the little dog had notified me that there was a pit bull being held back by the owner since she got there. So the lady who noticed the strange behavior, walked over to them and asked them if the dog was aggressive and that they were making her nervous. The owner of the pit bull then explained that the pit bull was aggressive towards SOME dogs and wanted to see how he would act around other dogs. So hearing that, I went to go get Hunter so we could go home instead. I didn’t want to take my chances. And right when I went to get him he went over to the pit bull to sniff him and the pit bull started to attack Hunter. The Pit had Hunters whole neck in his mouth and was ripping him and I was trying with all of my might to pull Hunter out of his mouth. I was ripping and pulling and trying to get the dog off of Hunter. I’ve never felt so helpless in my entire life. I was screaming and crying and the owner was punching the pit bull in the face but he wouldn’t let go. At this point we are all on the ground because the pit bull has Hunter pinned and then a Great Dane ( same owners of the pit ) came over and started to attack Hunter. I remember Hunter screaming and crying and I was right there and I was trying my hardest to get him out of there. I didn’t care if I got attacked. I didn’t care I just wanted him to live. I thought he was going to die. Everything in me was on fight or flight mode and I wasn’t going to give up. After several long minutes the pit bull let go and my baby was laying there motionless just crying. Somehow I managed to pull him out of the pit bulls mouth. I picked him up and ran and while I was running , the Great Dane tried to attack Hunter in my arms. And I ran faster than I’ve ever ran in my life. And Hunter was laying in my arms crying. The dog managed to rip chunks of skin out about the size of my fists, and bit part of his penis off. My heart is so broken that my baby is hurt. Right now he is in surgery and our vet bills are through the roof. We could use any help that anyone has to give us. Please pray for Hunter. Please pray for him. And thank you for your support and prayers. Right now we just pray he will still love dogs and that he will be happy again soon. I will be home with him 24/7 so even a dollar helps us right now.
