Gilbert's rehabilitation
Donation protected
Gilbert is a 2 year old, 7 lbs maltipoo, received into LOYAL rescue when his owners took him in to be euthanized for his injury.
Gilbert's ordeal started 3 weeks ago with sudden paralysis of his hind legs. Within 72 hours he had surgery at the 404 veterinary emergency clinic to remove the disc material that was compressing his spinal cord. While he had no deep pain sensation to his rear legs going into surgery, without surgery, there was no hope for any recovery.
Gilbert has now started the second stage of his recovery and that is his rehabilitation with certified rehabilitation staff at the same clinic. This stage is more important than the surgery as this will determine how much recovery Gilbert will make. Currently he is in rehab 6 days a week and we would like to be able to keep this up.
Help Gilbert's recovery by funding his rehabilitaiton program over the coming months.
