Prayers for Asher

Ashley is currently pregnant with their fourth child, a son named Asher Kent. At a routine anatomy scan ultrasound, doctors discovered that Asher has a congenital heart defect. After further ultrasounds, doctors have officially diagnosed Asher with an extremely rare condition known as heterotaxy. This syndrome affects the symmetrical development of Asher's body. Part of the conditions related to this defect that are present in Asher's body are:
1. Midline liver
2. Suspected asplenia (no spleen)
3. Mildly imbalanced AV Canal defect (a very large hole in the center of his heart, affecting all four chambers) 4. Pulmonary atresia 5. Duodenal atresia
Because of the rare nature of Asher's condition, Ashley and Kent will need to travel out of state for the best care for Asher. They will be traveling to Boston and Philadelphia in the coming weeks. Once they make a decision on where to deliver Asher, they will need to relocate as a family a month before his due date. After he is born, Asher will likely need surgery and will stay in the CICU (Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) for a few weeks.
Ashley and Kent believe in the goodness of the Lord and want to glorify Him through this journey. They are honored to be Asher's parents and are committed to make the best decisions for his care. With medical expenses and relocation costs looming, they would appreciate any and all donations you can make. Your donations would specifically go to cover:
1. The cost of an apartment in the month before Asher is born.
2. Medical costs associated with the many surgeries Asher will need.
3. The cost of the Ronald McDonald house once Asher is born.
4. Meals and transportation costs while relocating.
5. To supplement Ashley’s income as an online teacher, so she can focus solely on Asher’s recovery.
