Our goal was simple: travel the country in our RV with our 4 kids to share the Colorworld Series with as many people at as many comic cons as possible.
It sounds glamorous, I know. An opportunity to embrace a sort of whimsical freedom from the grinds of an ordinary life. The reality is that our life, when the oddity is stripped away and the whole thing is broken down to the nuts and bolts, is very similar to yours. I think the main difference is that "the grind" for us takes place in odd locations: next to the side of highways as much as ON them; in a parking lot, fumbling through the RV's engine for a solution to the latest mechanical problem; in the long hours behind busy sales tables, and in raised voices from the drivers seat to the back of the RV, imploring our kids to STOP TOUCHING EACH OTHER!
Dreams are not lights at the end of dark tunnels. They are IN the tunnels, in the uncertainty, often alone and late at night when everyone else has given up on the day. But the passion keeps driving you, keeps telling you to reach out, to keep moving. Because in the tunnels, when you keep calling out, you find the hands of others. And that's the dream made real: when other people want to be part of it. And then who cares about the fact that we're all in the dark?
We are looking for some hands right now, to help us push through this sudden and monumental hump of losing our RV, so we can survive until our house sells.
