I am a veteran with challenges, but God has blessed me with family, friends, abilities, opportunities, and RESILIENCE. Everyone isn’t blessed with resilience, but they can learn. I want to help my brothers and sisters, soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, and our veterans live the life they fought to protect. But we need your help.
• It has been reported that 30 veterans commit suicide every day.
• Veteran unemployment is 30-50% higher than the national average, which itself is extremely high.
• At least 1 in 5 Iraq/Afghanistan vets suffer from PTSD. 50% of those don’t seek/get treatment.
• About 1 in 5 veterans have Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
• 3.6 Million Veterans have service connected disabilities. I’m one of them.
• The realities are grim. But we CAN HELP!

So, whether you are considering suicide, lost both legs, can’t find a job, battling alcoholism, homeless, or have no money, if you have resilience, you CAN overcome and Thrive! God has blessed me with a naturally high resilience level, and I want to use it to give back. But I can’t without help. It’s that simple.
I would like to deliver this class to as many active duty military and veterans as possible. But I can’t do it without your help. We have the program, the instructor, the facility, and the infrastructure in place to find and coordinate these students and classes. But without funding, we will not be able to deliver this training.
Due to the grace of God, we have built a wonderful facility in Northern Virginia to serve the defense business in the DC Metro region. Unfortunately, due to sequestration and the government shut down, we are faced with our own challenges.
With sufficient funding, we will deliver The Resilience Advantage class to as many veterans and active duty military that we can.

Just to name a few. Plus, the veteran population in No. Virginia is among the most dense in the nation. We have the training they need to meet any challenge, we have a wonderful facility, in the right location, we have highly qualified instructors, and we have the students who need the training. But without the funding, all this won’t matter, and we won’t be able to deliver this training.
Resilience training gives people the tools and skills they need to cope with challenges. It helps you overcome these challenges and minimize their impact on your life. It helps you recognize subtle stress signals before they become chronic. Students learn powerful techniques to boost performance, resilience and quality of life. You learn to use practical intuition to effectively manage change without being overwhelmed. The training helps you to be less reactive, think clearly and make good decisions under pressure.
This training has already been delivered to over 4,000 soldiers before deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan and they loved it. We need to do a lot more. We can give our military/veterans the tools to make better choices and avoid choosing suicide, get that job, be the parent their kids need, or press on to overcome mental and physical challenges. Generally, we want to give our military the ability to live the kind of life they have made possible for the rest of us.
