The Big Volunteer Week is back for 2017! For many years Serve the City Brussels has been organising this annual event, where volunteers reach out to the vulnerable in our communities over a full week of volunteering.
This is what it looked like last year:
This year our aim is to raise 10,000E.
Serve the City Brussels' Big Volunteer Week
Serve the City Brussels is a non-profit organisation that started in Brussels 12 years ago, and is now active in over 100 cities around the world. Our organisation acts as a matchmaker between volunteers and the needs of the homeless, asylum seekers, children in need, the elderly, victims of abuse, and the disabled.
Serve the City Brussels, through the Big Volunteer Week, connects volunteers to more than 75 projects that we support. Our volunteers serve and assist the day-to-day work of our partner through social and practical activities. Activities can include serving a meal to the homeless, spending time with the elderly, painting an abuse centre, visiting the sick in hospital, playing with refugee children, and much much more....
In order to keep up with these projects and continue to support those in need, we need your help. We like to say many people doing small things together makes a big difference.
Aim
Funds raised through this campaign will go towards paying for the Big Volunteer Week and its activities, such as:
· A meal for someone living on the streets
· A Pop-Up Picnic where we serve those in need
· Cleaning & Gardening materials so that volunteers can create a clean and pleasant space for vulnerable people to live in
· Painting supplies to brighten up the shelters that house those in need
· Games & Beauty supplies for both the victims of abuse and their children
The funds collected will also go towards the promotion, organisation and overall cost of the Big Volunteer Week.

What can you do to help?
