Gwen vs. Meningitis

My cousins sweet five year old little  Gwen is usually a happy and active, loving child who truly enjoys life and now she's confined to a hospital bed as she was admitted to Maine Medical Center on December 26, 2018 and diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis.  She was doing better and scheduled to come home this weekend but then last Thursday stated that she had pain in her right hip.  MRI was taken and they found pooling in her right hip and surgery was done to drain and clean the area.  As we are all learning that bacterial meningitis is a incredibly complicated disease and this little girl has a long fight in front of her.  As one of 9 children you can understand that this time away from home is very difficult for her and her family.  All her sibling truly miss her as they can't even visit her as the risk is to great.  Holly (Mom) has been by her side from the beginning leaving Dan (dad) to visit daily (about 65 miles each way) and trying keep the home life as normal as possible.  This is a wonderful and loving family that would help anyone in need and though they are not asking for financial help it is our hope that by doing this it will help alleviate some burden for them so they focus on getting Gwen better, and with only one income and not able to work now I'm sure is taking its toll on them.  We were just informed that Gwen will have to remain in the hospital for at least 3 more weeks barring any more setbacks. The last I heard was that Gwen was schedule to have a stent put in her heart this weekend because this awful infection has taken over her little body. 
What we do know is that she is a fight and that this battle will take time and there is much uncertainty of what the family will need.  If you unable to financially support I know that the family has been asking for prayers!
