Buy Martin Bros. Crab for Lincoln

As per stories from media organisations like The Independent , a ceramic crab made by artists the Martin Brothers was recently blocked for export, and the sellers are looking for a buyer to keep it in the UK.

The estimated cost will be £217,000 with VAT being somewhere upwards of £43,000.  I love this freaking crab, and I also love the Usher Gallery in Lincoln which is currently under threat from the Lincoln City Council (read more from SLUG - Save Lincoln's Usher Gallery: http://www.slugcampaign.co.uk )

So - the plan is to raise this money for the Usher Trust, with the hope that they buy this crab for the public to enjoy. Lincoln is a fantastic city with a vibrant arts community, and this crab would add to its eclectic collection for all visitors to enjoy. 

Please help me buy this crab for Lincoln. If this fundraiser is not successful, or if enough money is raised but the Usher Trust is unable to purchase the crab due to timing or outbidding, I hope that this money will go into improvements for The Usher gallery to be kept as an art gallery, or at least put towards community art projects for the city of Lincoln.
