Buster's Medical Care

Donation protected
Meet Buster Rhymes.  Recently he spent five days at Cornell Veterinary Hospital in Stamford as we desperately tried to figure out what was wrong with him. This isn't the first time he's been to Cornell. Over the last three years we've seen cardiologists, internists, neurologist, all on a quest to understand why our little boy would get so sick. While we've discovered some heart issues that we've been treating we still did not have a definitive answer on his GI issues and four weeks ago it all came crashing down as he was weak and unstable and losing blood. After overnight care at our local animal hospital, we were able to get him stable enough to be transferred to Cornell, 3 hours from our home. With round the clock care and a battery of tests including biopsy's of major organs, endoscopy, colonoscopy, we've been able to definitively say that he has a moderate to sever form of IBD which we hope to be able to treat with diet but so far we have been unable to successfully transfer him to an approved diet without a severe IBD flare up and continued work with his internist to find a path forward for him.
Unfortunately, despite having pet insurance his entire life, our insurance company has denied all of our claims for both our emergency care and stay at Cornell, which is why we are asking for support. Buster will continue to need long term care and visits to Cornell as well as a vet approved diet and long term medication. He is of course our everything, the pug who made our family a family and who makes us laugh with his silly demeanor, his constant demands for his rightfully earned snackies, his pug brothers constant companion and his mommy's heart. Having almost lost him several times over the last few years, he still has so much more love to give to all of us and though it is hard to ask for help, we know that we've come to a point where to continue to give him the quality care he needs, we have to. Any funds raised will go directly to his recent care at Cornell. We cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read this and for donating to this little guy.  From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
