Burial Expenses for a Fisher of Men

To some of us he was known as Pops. To others, Jodie Sr. He was a dad, a grandfather, husband, brother and friend. But to all who knew him he was first and foremost a Fishers of Men.
Many said he was born to use his gift of gab to earn a living only, to move on from shoe shining and sales, construction and farming to his true calling...sharing his faith as he believed the Good Book had instructed him to. Matthew 4:19
And Jesus sayeth, "Come onto me and I will make you a Fishers of Men." You never let an opportunity pass by did you Pops? The girl at the cash register, a waiter in a restaurant, a sick friend or a new neighbor.
Pops, Jodie Sr. your words of faith will be heard no more as your voice has fallen silent after a lifetime of ministering to all who would listen.
And now as his struggle with so many health issues has ended, our struggles begin.
No one can help us fill the void that his death brings. That, each one of us must deal with in our own way.
But, our other burden is something you can help with. Pops lived his life giving not taking. His funeral insurance amount was to out of date to cover the cost of a very simple funeral at today's prices.
This is where the family must turn to you, asking for any and all donations to help with the balance of the funerary costs. While our goal is $4000, that is to us, many smaller goals, yes smaller donations.
Every donation helps.
If you knew our Pops, can you hear him telling you how he keeps little extra gifts and toys around because you never know when someone may be having a really hard day and the Lord would want you to help put a smile on their face.
None of us will curse the darkness. Each of us will light a candle.
