Burford Family Home Lost In Tornado

On Saturday, January 21st, a category F2 tornado ripped through the Wimberly community in Choctaw County, Alabama and completely destroyed the home of Tony and Kelly Burford.  Fortunately, they  rode out the storm at her parent's house and they all made it safely through unharmed.   When they arrived to survey the damage, there was nothing left to salvage, only the concrete slab remained where their home once stood.  Tony and Kelly, along with their five children: Cole, Ramsey, Bryson, Blake and Mariella are devastated by this loss and unfortunately have no insurance to help bear the brunt of such a huge burden.  Friends and family have offered some clothing, bare essentials and temporary housing for the next few weeks.  Neighbors and church members have volunteered to help start the clean up process but they know they have a long way to go from here.

 I've known this family for quite a while now and they are always quick to be the first to volunteer their time, money and donate items or supplies to families or children in need.  They always go the extra mile for others and now sadly they find themselves in need of our help.  While I cannot replace the precious momentos lost or give them back their home and valuables, I can do this small thing for them.  With their permission, I started this fund to help them with the painstaking process of starting over as they will need to find a permananent place to live for their family.   We ALL thank God that they weren't in their house that morning or we might be attending their funerals today instead of helping them rebuild their home.  They know how extremely blessed they are to still have one other and come through this unharmed.  Things can be replaced but our loved ones cannot.   Any donation you can give over the next few months will be greatly appreciated and go towards replacing what they have lost and helping this dear family begin again.
