Attend FFL CWD for nevaeH & family

As most of you know nevaeH is a type 1 diabetic which can be very taxing on her as well as her care takers mainly me, I spend hours on the phone advocating for her to receive the supplies she needs not to mention hours in the car for doctors and making sure she is taken care of,  running to the school to do a site change or running to a friends at 2 am to pick her up because she's not feeling well. I am on call 24/7 because that’s my responsibility and I love her and would never want anything to happen to her.  If she calls because her set fell out it doesn't matter where she is or what time it is I have 1 hour to get there and put it back in, yep that's my life in a nutshell...always making sure she’s taken care of not much of a life outside of her care.  I have to jump in the car and go to where she is no matter the time or distance, I've driven 6 hours one way before to pick her up because she was not feeling well but that's part of having a diabetic child. The reason for this campaign is to help us get away from our everyday life and learn some new stuff and meet other families that are going through the same thing. She has friends but none of them know her struggle,  she feels alone and like she's the only one in the world her age with diabetes because she is the only one in the family that has T1D and nobody understands her situation. It's not an easy condition to tackle with insurance coverage constantly changing and covering one thing one month and not the next it's not something you can just forget about it. nevaeH does well with it these days as it's now a way of life that we probably wouldn't know what to do without. I try as hard as I can to shield her from the "politics" of the suppliers inadequacies so she doesn’t get stressed from that as well but when she doesn't have supplies she needs its not easy. We never get a break from it, "it" T1D never goes away it will always be there she’s come to terms with the fact that she’ll never be "normal" like her friends, something that’s not easy for an 11 year old girl. She can't just get up and get dressed her day begins with a finger poke and carb counting amoung other things, she constantly that has to keep track of her carb intake and consider any exercise she may do before her shot can be given so she can adjust accordingly.  My purpose for this campaign is to raise money for nevaeH and our family to attend the FFLCWD conference (Friends For Life Children With Diabetes Conference) in Orlando, Florida in July of 2017. It would mean a lot to nevaeH as well as myself if we were able to attend the conference so nevaeH knows she’s not alone in her journey and that I'm not the only person she has to count on, that there are other little girls and boys her age as well as older and younger that deal with the same thing regularly.  If she were able to attend the conference they may be able to regulate her diabetes and teach us all some useful tricks as well as evaluate her and make any needed adjustments to her pump or supplies. This will be the first time she will have attended the conference and yes while we're there we will also be able to enjoy the pleasures of Disney World which would be a well deserved treat for our family after all the stuff we have to deal with daily. nevaeH is a kind, caring friend and daughter and at times its hard and tiring for her, she just doesn’t understand why she had to get diabetes and doesn’t understand why she is the only one and feels alone in her journey because really she is the only child with diabetes in our house and in our family. Just seeing the smile on her face when she meets others like her would be worth it although the Disney World theme park would also make her very happy that isn’t the main purpose for the trip.  The trip would be really helpful and educational for our entire family. We could really use the together time as having a diabetic can be time consuming and really makes for attention to be less than I would like for the other kids.
