Need a little help from our friends.
Bunny Gunner Expansion February 1, 2016

A brief history of Bunny Gunner

It's been a long journey, Bunny Gunner has come a long way since Susie and I combined our businesses, her framing expertise and my signs and graphics and formed Bunny Gunner 2007. We first opened our doors in Pomona, July 2007. We loved it there, the business was all contained in one venue, we had a huge gallery, exciting exhibits, we were part of the ever expanding Pomona Art Walk, it was fun! After a few years, we yearned for a little peace and quiet and a yard for our dog, Gunner. We found it in Claremont, living and commuting to Pomona was fine and did that for a few years. Eventually we relocated our frame shop to the Claremont Village in 2013, moving closer to the majority of our clients. The shop is small, 350 square feet and we had to rent a warehouse space in Upland for production and storage of framing and sign materials. In 2015 we opened a second Gallery and Framing space in Joshua Tree. Thanks to our good friends Rolo and Terry Castillo, we moved in right away and created Bunny Gunner Jr. We run Bunny Gunner Claremont during the week and Bunny Gunner Jr on the weekends. This brings us up to date with our new opportunities presented to us.

Both our Joshua Tree and Claremont locations have been given the opportunity to expand. We’re some hard working Bunnies and can’t turn something like this down. In Claremont, we will be moving to a larger venue and combining our current productions warehouse with the gallery and retail space in one location. In Joshua Tree, we are expanding both the gallery space, and the framing area to include a store with small art for sale. Move in date for both locations is February 1st.

This is why we are asking our friends for help. We’re not afraid of the work and are very excited to get started on both projects. The difficulty we are facing is funding both projects at the same time. Please join us by helping fund our exciting projects and help Bunny Gunner create a larger art venue for future exhibits.

Funding will go directly to things like materials for building counters, building walls, pedestals, painting, and demolition of the current spaces. The new space in Claremont has not been renovated in over 40 years. We will be removing carpet, making new doorways, replacing flooring, removing walls and fixtures, replacing outdated lighting and possibly re-wiring. Other expenses include deposits required for such a big move, account changes for utilities, new equipment for the Joshua Tree location and many other costs associated with such an endeavor. Please consider helping us get these projects going and remember to stop by both locations when we are up and running in a few weeks.

Many gifts will be available for our donors. Including original art, picture framing, custom or commissioned art pieces, gift certificates, t-shirts, decals or other graphics.

As many of you may know, it is hard for Susie and I to ask for help. We are used to doing everything on our own. This time we need help...

Thank you so much for your love and support all these years.

-Juan and Susie
