Building Stories With Word Elf!

Donation protected
Building Stories With Word Elf is a storytelling and literacy class for 4 - 6 year olds. Launched last fall, instructor Caitlin and her invisible friend "The Word Elf" have garnered praise from students and parents alike, and they are very excited to bring this class back this Spring!

(The video above is from our class offered this past fall--we are now opening it up to 4 year olds!)

Over ten weeks, students will embrace the concept of "Yes, and...!" in sharing and creating their story ideas. Caitlin’s good friend, the Word Elf (an invisible Elf that LOVES words!) leaves clues that introduce new theater games and activities, and brings students a new Word of the Week. Each Word of the Week activity page encourages students to practice writing their Word, identify their word in a story, and an interactive activity related to their word. At the end of the class, students will present a Showcase of the stories they've created and the games/exercises they've learned to family and friends.

This Spring, by students' popular demand, we will have a special emphasis on Red Nose Clown Technique (as developed by Eli Simon).

We will also explore:

~Create Your Own Book!
~Movement & Tableaus
~Word-At-A-Time-Stories
~Guided Imaginative Play
~and so much more!

"Word Elf has been a wonderful opportunity for our children to experience their own creativity. They have become more confident and more skilled in communicating their own feelings. Caitlin has fostered an environment of empathy and acceptance, and I would recommend this class to all. "
