Library for a Nepalese Village

To all my wonderful friends and family, I need your help raising money for a school I will be teaching at in Nepal next month. Heaven Hill Academy is a non-profit program that offers free education to under-privileged children in the rural village of Gaunshahar. Through the support of the community and assistance of international volunteers they have continued to expand since formation in 2014. The school currently welcomes 72 students, age 3-10, and consists of five classrooms.
Nepal remains one of the poorest countries in the world, offering very few opportunities for children to escape poverty without a quality education. This reality is especially harsh for girls and those belonging to the lowest caste. I chose to volunteer at Heaven Hill Academy because they do not discriminate between gender or social standing and provide free schooling for the poorest children in their village, alleviating the financial burden on their families.
They plan to begin construction of a library in March 2017, but still need additional building materials. All donations received will be used solely to buy bricks, cement, windows, bookshelves, etc. I will personally oversee the purchasing of materials and assist in construction when not in the classroom.
Although Nepal may feel worlds apart, I hope to bridge the gap via facebook. Through photos and storytelling, I will share my experience with you, offering a window into the lives of my students and their village community. The construction process will be documented from a pile of bricks to the beginnings of a foundation. Please help me to enrich the lives of these children and promote the mission of their school.
