UPDATE 11/24/17: Hooray! Rejoice has met her fundraising goal and will receive a brand new Buddy Bike with all the trimmings for Christmas! Thank you all for your support! I will request a follow-up statement and photos after they receive the bike. I will keep the fundraiser open through Dec. 3 and any additional funds raised will be donated to The Friendship Circle for their end of year fundraiser to give away bicycles - for more happy people on bikes. UPDATE 11/22/17: I just learned that The Friendship Circle, who sponsors the annual Great Bike Giveaway, will be doing an end-of-year donation drive to give away more bikes. Any additional funds raised in this Buddy Bikes for Christmas program will be donated to http://www.friendshipcircle.org/ to give away more bikes! So let's keep doing good for the holidays!
Congratulations Rejoice Ralph! Rejoice has been selected to participate in our 3rd Annual Buddy Bikes for Christmas program. Rejoice has been offered a discount and has until 12/3/17 to meet the fundraising goal to receive a Buddy Bike in time for Christmas!

MEET REJOICE RALPH - SHE'S ALL HEART
Hi, My name is Rejoice.
I am 11 years old and I love, love being outside exploring with my family. I first learned about the outdoors while we lived in Alaska: fishing, camping and hiking. We discovered our love for bike riding together. My older brothers and sisters can ride farther and faster than I can. My mom helps me by walking next to my bike. My brothers and sister will circle back around so that I can feel like I am with them. Lots of times they want to ride ahead and I can’t keep up. I try to wait patiently for them to come back at the end of trail or the car.
Having a Buddy Bike would mean that I can keep up with them, race with them, explore with them and be able to talk about our fun adventures together. I love being with my twin brother, older brothers and sister.
I was born with a congenital heart defect called complete AVSD, which means that I was born with half a heart; 2 chambers and one valve. My mom and dad tell me that some amazing surgeons worked together to reconstructive my heart two times now. I also have Down Syndrome which makes it so my arms and legs are short. All I know is that I want to be the next America Ninja Warrior and riding my bike with my family will make me stronger!
I love to bake, draw, crochet, read and do my math. I really love learning about animals and am proud of my job as a crosswalk/school bus greeter in the mornings at school.
If we could raise enough money to get a Buddy Bike, my family would be able to do something that we love together. I would be able to keep up with my crazy brothers and no one would feel like they are left behind from our adventures. Being together is so much better than waiting for everyone to come back. I will be able to ride this tandem bike with family or a friend for a long time. My mom says that every opportunity that I have to explore helps me to become more of who I was made to be…Amazing!

BUDDY BIKES FOR CHRISTMAS
Buddy Bike, LLC is raising funds to provide 1 Buddy Bikes to a special need child for Christmas (or whichever holiday you celebrate)! The fundraising goal must be met by the end of December 1, 2017 in order for the child to receive a Buddy Bike by December 22, 2017. Fundraising goal includes Buddy Bike (model selected by family), basic dual leg kickstand, fold-out foot pegs, domestic U.S. shipping & handling, bike assembly at a local bike shop and fundraising system processing fees.
Please consider a contribution to help a child realize the freedom that only a bicycle can offer! Contributions are not tax deductible. Any unused funds will be donated to www.greatbikegiveaway.org in support of adaptive cycling and bringing bicycles to people with disabilities.
Each year we participate in The Great Bike Giveaway by The Friendship Circle. We decided giving away bikes once per year was not enough. With your help, we hope to give away more! Your funds will help provide a Buddy Bike to a special family and will contribute toward building more Buddy Bikes for the people who need them most.
BUDDY BIKES FOR CHRISTMAS - SELECTION PROCESS HAS ENDED
Buddy Bike, LLC is seeking a family with a special needs child to participate in the 3rd Annual Buddy Bikes for Christmas (or other December holiday) program!
This program offers an opportunity to receive ONE Buddy Bike at a reduced rate to a family who meets the eligibility requirements. If you meet the requirements below, please contact [email redacted] or [phone redacted].
All submissions must be received by Tuesday, October 31, 2017. I will select a family to participate on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1) The family must have applied for funding for a Buddy Bike and been denied. The denial letter must be provided as proof.
2) The family must be willing to fund raise on their own to improve their chances at raising the funds by the December 1, 2017 deadline.
3) The fundraising goal will be determined based on the bike model and accessory selection of the family.
4) The family understands that Buddy Bike will assist with the fundraising promotion but can’t guarantee that the funds will be raised within the deadline or that a family will receive a Buddy Bike.
5) The family understands that if the fundraising goal is not met, any unused funds will be donated to either www.greatbikegiveaway.org in support of adaptive cycling.
Suggestions for fundraising include sharing the fundraising link with friends, family, co-workers and others on your e-mail list and on your social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. You may also create a flyer that you can spread around town.
You may use text similar to this, “Buddy Bike has provided a discounted price and an excellent opportunity for my child to receive a Buddy Bike but we need everyone’s help to make his/her Christmas wish come true!”
The Buddy Bike® is the alternative inline tandem bicycle (bicycle for two) that places the stoker (smaller rider) in the front seat while the rear rider controls the steering. The features of the Buddy Bike offer adaptive outdoor recreation and therapeutic activity to riders with cognitive or physical disabilities who may not be able to ride a bicycle safely on their own or who do not have the strength to pedal a bike alone. The Buddy Bike allows riders with autism, down syndrome, sight impairment or other disabilities to experience the thrill of riding a bicycle with the whole family. They are no longer left behind!
