Barklee the Beaver needs your help!
For Heaven's Sake Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation is a wildlife rescue/rehab facility located just south of Olympia, WA. FHS takes in and rehabilitates many animals each year including deer, raptors, and more. The recent addition of Barklee the Beaver is pretty exciting, though!
Barklee is a juvenile beaver who came to FHS as an orphan. Beavers are unique in that they need strong social bonds and enrichment for the first few years of their life. They form strong family units in the wild and need to have a lot of attention while growing up. Barklee will need to spend the first few years of her life at FHS in an enriched environment before she can be released into the wild.
To meet Barklee's needs, and the needs of future beavers who come to the facility, FHS needs to build a special outdoor enclosure. This enclosure will need to include a large pond for her to build a dam inside of and learn skills to prepare her for survival in the wild.
This will be an expensive endeavor and we need your help! Please spread the word and help us raise money for Barklee the Beaver and for future beavers who come to our facility!
