My best friend & Partner In Crime, Vanessa King is in a battle for her life. On September 14, 2018 Nessa (as we all call her) was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Nessa is a traveling ICU nurse, and was at work on the 12th not feeling like herself. Being a critical care nurse, she knew something was off, as did her coworkers, who insisted she go to the ED. From there she was admitted to the hospital, underwent a battery of tests and procedures, and was given the diagnosis of the awful C-word! Thankfully with this latest assignment she was "at home" and wasn't several states away!
Now Nessa is facing a long road to beating this diagnosis. She is now on the receiving end of care & treatment, which NONE of us in the medical field are used to. (We tend to make for some of the worst patients, because we rarely follow the rules!) Due to the severity of the type of cancer (and it's location) & the treatments she will begin shortly, she will likely be unable to work for a year. Since she's a travel nurse, she had no safety net like most employers offer, so she is now out of a job. Since she's not able to work, her insurance is also cancelled and needs all of our help!
Nessa has a HUGE heart, AMAZING soul, CAPTIVATING smile, UNSHAKABLE determination, and a CONTAGIOUS personality. Lets all join together and tell cancer to BUCK OFF!
