Bryson's Treatment and Recovery

Donation protected
Three weeks ago we took our son Bryson to the ER and found out he had a broken tibia. His leg was casted and we were sent home to allow it to heal. Monday we went back to the doctor to have the cast removed and X-rays completed to confirm the bone was healed. Following the scans we were informed his leg hadn't healed at all and he likely has a condition called congenital pseudoarthrosis of the tibia (CPT). CPT is a very rare condition that affects the strength of the tibia and once broken prevents the bone from healing on its own. Doctor's aren't entirely sure what causes this condition, but it only affects about 1:150,000 people.  CPT will be a lifelong battle, but proper treatment is most critical in the childhood years.

Currently Bryson is being treated by the Orthopedic team in Rochester MN, but will be getting a second opinion with an Orthopedic Surgeon from Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul MN who has more experience treating this condition in infants. At this time insurance classifies treatment at Gillette Children's Hospital as out of network which will result in increased costs for Bryson's treatment.

Bryson's treatment will include: numerous doctor visits and X-ray's, various braces and casts, and eventually multiple surgeries to manage this condition.

The costs of CPT, medical bills, traveling, lodging, missing work, among other things is becoming very overwhelming. We are seeking support from family and friends to assist in the financial burden our family is facing. If you're able to donate any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
