Bryan Daniel's Accident Relief Fund

Donation protected
My name is Kim Smith.  I am a friend of Bryan Daniel and his family.  I came to know Bryan through my eldest daughter who is dating Bryan.  Bryan was severly injured when his car was hit, head on, by another vehicle on November 30, 2016.

Bryan was on his way to work via Highway 52 in Bethpage, Tennessee on Wednesday morning when he was hit head on by a vehicle which was supposed to be in the opposite lane of travel. Bryan was wearing his seatbelt and the airbags on his vehicle deployed, saving his life. However, despite the safety features in place, Bryan received serious injuries to his intestines, two shattered ankles, a fractured pelvis, fractured leg, fractured lumbar spine and a broken clavicle. Bryan was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center Trauma Unit where he has remained since that time. Bryan has undergone two surgeries to his abdomen to correct the internal injuries and was completely sedated and medically paralized until December 2nd. Bryan will require surgery on both ankles before being discharged from the hospital hopefully within 10-14 days. Rehab is expected to be extensive due to the fact that he has had 2 major surgeries to his abdomen and the fractures to his ankles have left him unable to walk. The doctors are projecting that Bryan will be out of work for 4-6 months for rehab and then will require another surgery to reverese the colostomy that had to be placed in order to save his life.

All funds raised will go toward Bryan's unpaid medical, rehabilitation and health insurance expenses during the period of time he is off from work.  Funds will also be used to maintain Bryan's current obligations and standard of living during the extended  time he will be off work due to the  significant injuries he received in the accident.

I guess we can all agree and acknowledge that Bryan has been dealt a very unfortunate and unfair set of circumstances which were not brought on by any fault of his own. However, Bryan is so thankful to be alive. I am so very hopeful that we will be able to rise as Bryan's community and show him the love and generosity we have in our hearts  in order to ease his mind and assist in meeting his needs during this very difficult period of time.

I have heard from several family members who sincerely appreciate all the prayers, texts, calls, and visits from each and every one of you.  I want to personally thank each of you in advace for any funds you are able to donate to Bryan. I sincerely want Bryan to be able to concentrate on getting better rather than spending his time worrying about his financial obligations.  Please know that there is no donation which would  be considered too small.

Finally, I will continue to post photos and provide status updates concerning Bryan's journey to recovery.
