If you've ever met the man/myth/legend known as Bruce Farland (perhaps best known as `Bruce E Bruce`), you would immediately recognize that he is one of the strongest and kindest men you could possibly find in the world today. No matter what your relation was to him or how you met him, he wouldn't hesitate to give you the shirt off of his back if he thought that it would help you out in any way.
On the evening of Monday June 24th, Bruce had a severe heart attack. This attack was severe enough that that he was immediately intubated and flown directly to Mass General Hospital (MGH) in Boston. At MGH, it was discovered that Bruce had developed a full blockage in one of his main arteries.
To save his life, Bruce underwent major open-heart surgery late into Wednesday night. The operation was mostly successful, but revealed that his heart tissue had been more damaged than previously thought. We are currently exploring the possible options for the treatment that will provide him the best quality of life going forward. Regardless of Bruce's path forward, his life will be profoundly changed from this event for the rest of his life.
We're starting this GoFundMe so that we can begin to prepare for the financial implications of Bruce's heart attack and the necessary life changes that might not be covered by his insurance. At a minimum, Bruce may require consistent trips to Boston as well as various other medical expenses. Those expenses will become more clear in the next few days and we'll make every effort to keep this updated with a full list of those expenses.
