Brownie's Cancer Expenses

After a couple of years of being told that our dog may have arthritis in his hind legs/hip and a stressful past 7 months of unexplained symptoms and worries, we were told on July 27, 2017 that our sweet Shih-Tzu, Brownie, has a malignant prostate tumor the size of a golf ball.
We are devastated...
As you can imagine, the last week has been filled with uncertainty. We were told that Brownie's life expectancy was anywhere from two weeks to two months, as prostate tumors are rare and, more often than not, inoperable. We were advised how costly this kind of care is, given medication to help alleviate his symptoms and sent home. 
The following day we took Browine to an oncologist, keeping in mind what we were told about the cost and his age (11yrs 7mths) but knowing that we could not live with ourselves if we didn't do everything in our power to help him. 
At the advice of the specialist, we scheduled a CT scan with Cytology which cost us $2,7711.92 (see bill below). 
Today we received the results. Thankfully,  the cancer has not spread to other areas and he is otherwise in great health. Oddly enough, Brownie's tumor originated in the urethra. Unfortunately, it still considered inoperable. We were, however, informed that this kind of tumor often responds well to Chemotherapy. The goal is to begin A.S.A.P with a round of Chemo. If the tumor responds well to treatment, his life could be prolonged significantly. Most importantly, the treatment could help give him a greater quality of life.  Each round of Chemo would consist of 4 treatments each costing approximately $500.  After the round of therapy, an Ultrasound is needed to help determine the effects of the Chemo. The cost of the Ultrasound is about $800. 
One thing you should know about Brownie, he is completely oblivious to his age. No one believes us when we tell them that he is indeed an older little guy. He is as playful as a puppy. He has amazing energy and love. He is patient, kind, loving and the best boy we could have ever asked for. Everywhere we go people gravitate towards Brownie like bees to honey. His tongue always hangs out of the side of his mouth and that is by far one of his most charming qualities. Yes, since the time we brought him home at three months, his tongue has always found a way to remain out of his month. Brownie came into our lives at a really difficult time and has always been our biggest support and source of unconditional love. We are hoping to begin to repay that by not giving up on him. 
The money we are hoping to raise will go 100% towards his cancer treatment. We know it is a lot to ask but we have to try.  We whole heartedly thank you for well wishes and support of ANY kind. If you could pass this along and share Brownie's story, we would greatly appreciate it.
