Brooke Kemp a 24 year old mother of 2 young children was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia September 5, 2019.   Beautiful Layla was about to turn 3 and Luke a mere 2 months old at the time of her dIagnosis.    July 1st Brooke had lost a fair amount of blood when delivering her new baby boy Luke and felt like she may be anemic.   Unaware of any major issues she had gone to the emergency room  anticipating a short visit and a blood transfusion.   Quickly after Brooke’s lab results were complete there was a lot of activity and the doctors began asking questions about family history and cancer.  Brooke was  encouraging to have her loved ones come to the hospital.   An oncologist was called in to review the blood sample from brooke’s lab work and possibility that she may have cancer.    Brooke with her father, fiancé, and a close friend by her side was told she wouldn’t be going home but instead would be spending the next 30 days receiving chemotherapy and the next year fighting for her life.    Brooke, Layla and Luke are currently staying with her parents Reuben and Malissa  Kemp.   She is continuing with outpatient chemotherapy and is scheduled to begin the stem cell transplant process in November.   Brooke will be hospitalized for about 90 days and most of the time without being able to see and hold her precious children.  Although currently employed with insurance coverage there is a chance she could loose her  job because she is unable to work through this process.    Needing to keep insurance and care for her children while bills are piling up on top, Brooke needs our help.
