Brooke's Cancer Journey

On Monday, May 20th 2019, Brooke went into urgent care for bruises that were covering her entire body. Thinking she was anemic, the doctor ordered her to get bloodwork done. After her bloodwork came back she was sent directly to the emergency room due to extremely low platelets and low white blood cells. A few hours later Brooke was diagnosed with APL (Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia). She started chemo immediately. When day 2 came around, she had a bone marrow biopsy scheduled to confirm that she for sure had APL and her treatment plan was then started. This caring bridge is set up for anyone wanting day by day updates on Brooke’s prognosis. She is a fighter, and this is a battle she’s in to win! #Bstrong
