My name is Jessie. I'm a 29 yr old sufffering from severe persistent asthma. My pulmonary function on a good day is about 60%. Over the past 5 years I've had 7 hospitalizations, 4 of which were just in the past 12 months. With each exacerbation, my condition worsens. The stress on our family finances is significant. Please consider a small contribution for a little less stress so my family and I can concentrate on healthier future.

Today is a good day! Jessie is able to come home from the hospital! She is requiring oxygen which will be delivered next week, and having lots of follow ups with Temple next week as well.

For as much as Jessie has been fighting to remaining a positive attitude and a mind set of "just one more hurtle" we are coming to the realization that this is going to be a much longer road than initially anticipated.

Jessie will unfortunately not be able to return for work for an unforeseen future. She struggles with the need to "take it easy" and keep a sense of self and entertain two toddlers.

We are keeping our heads up and are determined to get these conditions underway, or at least better managed.

With this update, if you can not contribute financially, please contribute something witty, funny, sarcastic, as we all know that will boost Jessie's spirits which is just what she needs today!

Jessie went into the hospital Saturday, with yet another severe asthma exasperation. They of course admitted her to the hospital on oxygen, and high doses of IV steroids and a number of other treatments. With this hospitalization(being the 8th in 2 years) and three procedures in Three months at Temple Lung Center and Jessie unable to return to work, we are still trying to keep our heads above water. We are incredibly fortunate to have a great support system of family and friends. At this point we are looking at more extensive treatments, including immunotherapy and possible more procedures.

The extent of the immunotherapy and procedure are still unknown at this point, we should know more by the weekend, and will be following up with Jessie's primary Doctors at Temple.

Every day is a struggle but Jessie makes a conscious effort to wake up brave, and strong for our girls. She is continuing to fight and so do I.
