9 YEAR OLD TRISTAN JAMES BACKER WAS EJECTED FROM A FAMILY'S SUV IN THE LATE EVENING HOURS ON JANUARY 15th 2019. THE FAMILY WAS TRAVELING ON HWY 22 JUST WEST OF MILL CITY. THE FAMILY OF 6 WERE HEADING EAST ON HWY 22 , jusy minutes away from their home the family faced a horrifying accident that nearly took the family of six from the smally community of Mill City. 9 year old Tristan, waited for his 3 younger siblings to be taken to safety as their Honda Pilot would not start. The car had spun around stopping in the middle of the hwy after nearly running into a deer. The incident was but a blur of only a few seconds. With the car stalled facing on coming traffic on hwy 22 just west of Mill City, unable to start the car Julien Doudna(father) and Brandie Doudna only had seconds to react. The mother and father had three children in car seats to remove and just as soon as the three todlers were in the parents hands an oncoming car past the mother, father and 3 toddlers by inches. The on coming car struck their Suv. Tristan who was making his way to his dad was unable to exit the suv in time. The oncoming car made impact just feet away from his wife and 3 toddlers. Tristan was thrown from the suv and landed some 30 feet down the hwy. Tristan was life flighted to OHSU were he is now in intensive care and this family is at the hospital hoping their son will make a full recovery. Without a vechical, and a 9 yesr old at a Portland hospital, the family can use any support available. Living in Mill City and having three children under the age of 5 we are asking for either a vehicle to be donated or loaned to the family to get back in forth between Portland and Mill City or cash donations to help tge family buy a car a.s.a.p. .
