To our dear friend Brody,
What a miracle we have all witnessed to have you here with us today - alive & well. This motorcycle accident has shown what a strong, brave, and amazing person you truly are. We know you have a brave heart and you are going to persevere through this - just like you have done with all obstacles in life. What seemed to be a normal sunny Sunday afternoon, Brody went on a Harley ride with the Slocum family and friends, and within a blink of an eye Brody collided with a van and his life would be forever changed. Thankfully riding close behind was Brody's best friend Garrett. Coming upon this accident he acted quickly to stop the bleeding by using Brodys belt as a make-shift tourniquet. There is no doubt this saved Brodys life. An ambulance quickly arrived on the scene and Brody was rushed to a trauma center nearby. Upon arriving at the ER Brody was taken into emergency surgery to stop the internal bleeding as well as an additional surgery. As of day 3 Brody has had 4 surgeries with another scheduled Thursday morning. Brody remains in acute critical condition with a severe brain injury due to multiple bilateral bruises in the brain. With all this being said, we are so thankful Brody is still here with us today. However what lies ahead are many years of healing, therapy and support. We kindly ask our friends, family, church and community to help in any way possible to alleviate some of the finances. We hope to see Brody live a normal life again as soon as possible with the support of his friends, but also by his amazing girlfriend Erin who has been by his side the last 8 years, as well as his family who have not left his bed side since the accident. Barrett family, we are praying for you & the Brentwood community is standing by your side! We love you!
