A cuddle cot for those in need

Donation protected
As some of you may or may not know, two weeks ago Amy and I suffered the loss of our first son.  At 34 weeks and 4 days Amy noticed that she wasn't feeling his little kicks as she normally would have while having juice for breakfast.  Obviously concerned we went to the doctor only to hear the terrible news that his heart was no longer beating.  Shortly thereafter Amy was induced and gave birth to Brody Helm Douglas on October 4th at 11:19 a.m.  He was a beautiful tiny boy with a head full of brown and red hair with a few blonde highlights to boot.  His little hands and feet were tiny and perfect.

We were fortunate enough to spend two of the most wonderful days we have ever experienced with him, he never left our side.  This was all due to the fact that a group of parents who had also suffered this same terrible loss had donated a "Cuddle Cot" to the hospital for other families to use in their time of need.  Essentially a cuddle cot is a cold bed for stillborn children.  The cuddle cot allows parents to spend as much time with their child as possible.  The cool temperature of the bed helps maintain the natural color of the baby, whereas if left in a warm room natural deterioration may occur quickly.

Unfortunately, there were two other families that suffered the same loss as us on the same day but the hospital only had the one cuddle cot to offer.  This was sad to hear considering how fortunate we felt for getting to use the cuddle cot that they had to offer.  Upon hearing the news of the other parent's losses we immediately decided that we would do everything that we could do to help so this same situation doesn't occur again.

After researching cuddle cots we learned that they are very expensive roughly $3000-4000 dollars.  We are hoping to be able to donate two of them in Brody's memory.  So we are reaching out to you to help us in our journey in helping give other families suffering the same loss a chance to find peace and happiness that we experienced in their time of loss.  Although it was only two short days we gained a lifetime of memories, laughs, hugs, and kisses with our son that we would've never experienced had it not been for the generosity of the parents who had previously lost their baby.

Please share with everyone you know,
anything and everything helps.  Thank you so much.
