Help Dennis Come Home

When my dad fell and broke his ankle for the second time in as many years, no one could have ever dreamed that after a series of unfortunate events it would leave him paralyzed from the waist down. It was a shock to everyone when they told him he'd never be able to walk again. Even when faced with this fact, and a second bout of cancer, he never lost his naturally happy and humorous demeanor.  Anyone who has ever met him knows what kind of man, friend, and father, he really is. The nursing home is not the home for him. Although he is still healing from the surgical incision and infection, and receiving physical therapy to teach him how to live from a wheel chair, the ultimate goal is to have him back in his own home, where he belongs. In order to have that happen, many physical changes have to be made to the house such as new flooring so he can get around in a wheel chair, widening doorways, adding ramps. Medical equipment is also needed, such as a wheelchair, hospital bed, a lift and other supplies. The costs of these things are astronomical, and unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover much of what is needed. New flooring alone is estimated at $8,000.  This is going to be an expensive venture for our family, and any help is much appreciated. Even if it's just a Tim Horton's coffee or a friendly visit to keep his spirits up. He has worked hard to support our family since his 18th birthday, before he even had a wife and two daughters. I wish I could give him everything he has given me, but one person couldn't even come close to paying for everything that lies ahead of us. Thank you!
