This is Abud: a Band!

Since February 2018, Abud: A Band has been filling the world with exquisite musicianship and joyful enthusiasm. After 9 months of rehearsals, shows, and rescheduled brunch dates, we feel ready to create a full length album of our original music.  

The working title for the album is "Join the Family". It's a tribute to the family you create, the people you love, and the good times to be had.

We're going big on the production and planning to record something professional level, which is dauntingly expensive. So we're asking you, our beloved friends, family, and fans to help make this dream a reality.

I said Babaaaaay!

Your donations will cover: The tracking, mixing and mastering of the album start to finish, as well as any musicians we need to fill out the sound, as well as rehearsal space and time so we can make sure the band is tight and the process is quick and efficient.

It's gonna cover copyrights and publishing and any hosting fees for digital release so that you all can listen on iTunes and Spotify and whatever streaming service you use.

We haven't decided yet if we're gonna make physical CDs or download cards or what have you but either way the materials necessary for those processes will be covered.

Of course, it's gonna help cover producing the merch, I love good swag (it's my orthodox pirate upbringing) and we want to offer alla youse some truly high quality stuff!

Our intention is to release the album in Spring of 2019, so we need to get cookin' on this project as ASAP as possible.

Join the Family is going to be a testament to holding space. The music we're going to record for it is designed to create a feeling of really genuine positivity. Our intention is to soothe those who need soothing and rile up those who need to be riled.

We want people to understand how beautiful, satisfying, capable, and worthy they are. So we're creating an album that showcases the things that make us feel that way. What we're trying to create is music that makes you feel like yourself.

It's happy sounding, fun, dance music and you'll generally feel happy. It's funny and cute and everything but what we want, artistically, is to hold space for people to have the capacity to feel all of their emotions.

That's what Join The Family means.

If we use the consumption of meaningful artistic offerings to help people feel more mindfully happy and more mindfully confident, they'll be in a stronger and clearer headspace to affect changes in their own lives to help make the world a little bit easier to live in. That's what we're going for.
