Janelie’s family called police in October to report a mental-health episode, when the 25-year-old DACA recipient was charged with biting an officer. That felony was dropped July 11 when a judge reviewed Janelie’s psychological report, yet ICE placed a hold on her. As of Friday July 13, Janelie has been locked up in the South TX Detention Center two hours from her family.
While in the detention center, Janelie is not being given her medication and is experiencing hallucinations. Janelie deserves to be at home where she can receive the treatment she needs.
