Bring Christian Rock to NC!
D13 LiveMusicEvents: facebook.com/d13livemusicevents Instagram: d13livemusicevents Hi, I'm Rick Blackburn/ D13 Live Music Events. I'm a small non-profit, christian rock promoter here in Winston Salem, NC. My desire and dream, is to provide a music ministry/outreach for the youth and young adults in our community. As with most small non-profits, our financial situation is very limited. WE NEED YOUR HELP. We want to show the youth in our area, we DO love them and we DO care! We want to provide them with music, entertainment, food and message. ALL funds will go to book bands, feed the bands and youth on concert night. Any leftover funds will go towards our next outreach! This is an amazing opportunity for youth driven music ministry and I'm begging you to join me in bringing more Christian rock bands to NC. We need this. Our kids need this. God will be exalted and He will bless every penny donated! ______________________________________ A little about me: Im married to the most awesome woman in the world and we have 5 kids...2 boys & 3 girls. All 3 of my teenage daughters play in the church praise and worship band every Sunday. I have always loved live music and played music all my life. I'm partial to loud & heavy, christian/spiritually-based rock. I'm talking about bands that do this as a love for God, that barely make any money being on the road, do not get any airplay on christian pop radio and get no support from their record company. If you've been in this for any length of time, you know the bands I'm talking about. Some of my favorite memories are seeing great bands like Disciple, Justifide, ThousandFootKrutch, Junker Jorg, The Benjamin Gate, Building 429, Bride, FamilyForce5 at the old Cafe Jam coffee shop in Greensboro, NC with my oldest son Chase. We'd walk outta that place, ears ringing, big smiles, neck hurting from headbanging. I felt like the coolest dad in the world! I can't begin to tell you how many young people, I witnessed, come to know Christ, by being drawn to that loud music, then see the guys slowly put down their guitars, walk off stage and the singer says, "Let me tell you about this man that died on a cross and changed my life forever." Chase and I still talk about those shows. I want my youngest son and 3 teenage daughters to experience that. I want our local teens to experience that. My dream and prayer is to bring more live music events like this, back to our area. NC is a very tough market for music these days, small venues and even in some churches that used to support it. I dont know what happened, but I want this generation to have that again. Good clean fun, loud music with a message.+ Read More
Thank you guys for all your support! Thank you for joining with me to bring some love, ministry and loud music for the kids this coming Friday, May 18 at The River Church final concert. We had to combine some shows, causing us to run short on time to raise funds. We are only 2 days away and we are still $550 short. Can I please get some people with giving hearts to help me with this very amount? If only get like 11 people to donate $50, we'd be covered. We need to rent sound, lights, stage, provide food for bands and volunteers. Please don't let this opportunity to support this ministry pass you by. This ministry can only be possible if I can get you to help me financially. In a perfect world everything would be free, but you know, nothing is free. The bands are traveling from 100's of miles away to do what God has called them to do. The people who have volunteered need food and refreshments. Christ WILL be preached! Please donate today...10, 20, 50, 100. Thank you so much!
Hi all, we're only 1 week away from the big day! Thank you so very much to the ones who have donated to this awesome event. The donations are definitely an encouragement to me to keep going. It let's me know there are peeps who still believe in christian ministry and trying to change our small part of the world, right here. Right now I'm running about $600 short. Please consider partnering with me with a gracious donation. Please pray that this event will reach the ones it's supposed to. Love you guys! Hope to see you on May 18.
UPDATE: Sad news about The River Church closing. Im still in shock. Needless to say, this has put the Rock The River 2018 May 18 youth concert on a wait-and-see, because we still don't know if Lifewater Church, who is taking over the building, will allow us to have the concert there? We may be forced to rent a space in the same strip, so that means having to rent stage, sound and lights. WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS SHOW. It's much too late to cancel. Since the last post a week ago, we have raised $0, which even adds more stress. I need your help NOW. I'm really depending on some big-hearted people to do something great...help me change this part of the world, give back to the community. The enemy would love for you to dismiss this and would be overjoyed if we have to forfeit this event. This is not just a concert my friends, it's an outreach. Christ WILL be preached! Instead of 500, realistically we will need about $800 now to cover extra costs. If 80 people could donate $100 we'd be there. There are people reading this right now, that God has blessed you financially and you could give 500, or even the whole 800 without even struggling. The question is...Do we let the enemy win?
No donations in 3 weeks. Please partner with me and help support this community and youth ministry at The River Church. I need $500. to cover the June 22nd event. A very small amount to fund this event with infinite returns. Help me by donating 10, 20, 30, 40, 100 dollars. There's a person reading this, right now that could donate the full $500. and it wouldn't effect your lifestyle at all. Please listen to your heart. God will bless. We are on the same team!
