We have all had our own negative experience with insurance when they refuse to cover certain services. However, for a person with epilepsy, those denials can be life-threatening. Insurance often denies coverage for expensive equipment such as a seizure monitoring devices, strollers, and gait trainers. They certainly deny medication coverage or decide to suddenly stop coverage.
BRIEzy's Bunch is named after our sweet girl, Aubrie, who has been diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome, a rare and potentially catastrophic form of epilepsy. After our own insurance woes and hearing too many stories from parents who have lost their children due to insurance denials, we decided it was time for us to help as many individuals with epilepsy as possible.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charitable organization. Your donation directly provides financial assistance to individuals with epilepsy and their critical care needs when their insurance companies deny coverage. Things like adaptive equipment, seizure monitoring devices, and emergency medication funding. Applicants must submit proof that their needs are recommended by a neurologist and insurance denial to be considered, so you can rest assured your dollars help those who otherwise may not have their needs met.
