Briana's Vet Med Symposium!
My name is Briana Tesky and I am a second year Veterinary student at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I am interested in all species of animals and am working towards becoming a wildlife veterinarian. I got accepted into 2 courses for veterinary students that are held in South Africa and offers veterinary students the ability to get hands on experience working with wildlife and an understanding of the management practices and the role of the veterinarian in utilization. I was accepted into the ECOLIFE expidetions Vets-in-the-Wild program as well as Wildlife Immobilization and Conservation Course for Veterinary Students with Brothers Safaris. In both of these courses you work in small groups with Wildlife veterinarians and guest lecturers to discuss wildlife conservation, disease control, pharmacology, species preservation and utilize all of this information in a hands on format. These courses would give me real world experience in the field I love and allow me to learn from experts in the field. These connections can help launch my career and allow me to achieve my dreams. This is the last year I will be able to attend due to school constraints and financial constraints make it impossible to achieve without help. I would be extremely grateful to anyone who can help me make this dream a reality and allow me this opportunity to learn and apply this knowledge in a way that gives back!
